Hot Import Nights at the Baltimore Convention Center
Sept. 6th, 2003 - by Lauri Morgan / Marketing Team

This was the event that V.I.and other car clubs had talked about all year. For the first time ever, Hot Import Nights was coming to Baltimore, MD! Showing for VI were Mel, Tony D., Jo, Tara, and myself. On Friday Mel, Wendy, Tony D, Jess, Tara, Damon, Dan and I all met up at Toys R Us at 6:00. We then began the drive down to the convention center. Traffic wasn’t too bad, until we got in the line for roll in. We were in the line for at least 20- 30 minutes before we got inside the building. When we got in, I turned on my CD I made for HIN, and we began cleaning our cars and setting up. It was pretty cool getting a sneak peak at all the amazing cars we would be competing with the next day. Mel, Jo and I rented our electricity which for Mel and I ended up being 180 dollars!! Unfortunately, there wasn’t much time before we were told we had to leave and none of us were close to being ready for the show. We walked about a block in the wrong direction, to find our ride. The car was parked at the morgue, and when we asked people where it was at, for some reason they thought we were kidding. After a long walk, we finally got to our ride. My brother’s pimp juice navi, which rolls on 22’s ( this pimp navi also happens to be Danny’s work truck). We had a fun ride home, and went to Damon’s restaurant before going home for the night. We all got yummy food, and Tony D, ordered a lot and didn’t eat any of it, like normal. Finally we went home, and got a few hours of sleep. On Saturday, Jess and Tony picked Danny and I up at my house, and then we all met up at Toys R us. We were there first and couldn’t resist going into toys r us and getting some new remote control cars. We ended up getting 2 escalades and one Evo VIII. We couldn’t wait until we got there, so we left an hour early, hoping they would let us in. We got past every single person, to sneak in except for the very last one. Since they wouldn’t let us in, we got out the remote control cars and played with them a bit. When we got in, we cleaned and cleaned and cleaned our cars some more. We got the fog machines and the lights set up. Although my car electricity wasn’t working in the beginning, everything looked great. We saw many familiar faces at the show and in support for VI was Danny, Wendy, Damon, Jess, Mike B, Tony M, Amber, Mike, and a few of Jo’s friends. The entire day was packed with fun! The cars there were some of the hottest I had ever seen. There was even a BMW that was nothing but Carbon Fiber. There were lots of cool give a ways, nice music, and Hot looking Models. Tony M personally met a few models, when he got a picture with two of them. I’d also say Tony D’s and my car had more pictures taken of it in about 10 minutes that had ever been taken before. The two girls leaned on his hood, and actually got in my car, on my seats on top of each other, if I was a guy it would have been more exciting for me, but the guys were loving it and my car must have gotten about 200 pictures taken of it in minutes!! If you didn’t see the pictures, already, make sure you check them out! Thanks girls!! Mazda had an awesome stage set up, with some girls dancing on some poles, with great lighting and fog!! The day couldn’t have been any better. I think it was the best show the VI had ever attended. By the time awards came out, we were all so tired, we pulled out chairs to sit on during the awards. The announcer mentioned our clubs name, which was pretty cool, and we got the last of our energy out cheering. Although VI came home empty handed, I don’t think any of us had anything to complain about. That show was awesome!! I hope Hot Import Nights comes back to Baltimore, and if it does you’ll be seeing us there again!! I want to thank all who came out and supported VI, it’s what makes our club what it is today. Tomorrow is Sudden Impact’s show at Watersedge, we hope to see all of V.I. there, since they rolled so deep at our show!!
