M.C.A. Car Show
July 20th, 2003

The day started out slow, some of us didn’t want to wake up (Damon) and some of us were being attacked by a cat (Dan). After all the children were ready to leave my casa, and after a stop at good old Mc D’s, we were on the road to Reisterstown to the MCA show. Did you know that MCA stands for Monte Carlo Association??? News to us. We finally arrived there, after debating on whether or not we went the right way on 140, and met up with another member of our possie, (Jo). So in attendance for VI there was Dan, Lauri, Jo, Damon and Myself. Ok here is when the show gets weird……After registering and searching for my pre-registered bag, which they didn’t have, we were back at our cars and getting them ready. We were then told by, I guess one of the judges, that after we cleaned our cars we were to drive up to the judging tent, get judged, and then set up for people’s choice. They used this sheet and a point system where if you scored a zero on body kit no points were deducted, so basically if you were a big zero you rocked! After we all made our rounds to the judging tent, and after a few discouraging comments from one of the judges on Lauri’s Air ride, we all made our way back to set up our cars for, the people’s choice award. This made no sense because it wasn’t like the car show attendants could vote, you had to have a registered car in the show. (Hey Lauri it isn’t made by wings west!!!) The day proved to be a blistering day complete with sunburn. (You should see Damon’s killer sock tan) There was plenty of LOUD music, people trying to dance to it, More LOUD music, reasonably priced wieners and burgers, more LOUD music, fruit smoothies, (of which I think Damon had the most of), more LOUD music and oh…a $30 raffle. (Big spenders here!!) The quickie bag made an appearance, and served as a napping place for a few, the quickie chairs also made an appearance, and the quickie tent was really, really, really missed! Now lets talk trophies!! When it was time to collect trophies, well we all went home with one! Lauri and Dan both got a trophy for 80% score, Jo got a trophy for 100% perfect score and I took home a 4-foot tall Best of Show trophy! And there was an 8-foot tall trophy that went to a light-blue accord from Full FX. And apparently the trophies get bigger next show! All and all it was a good day, too bad all of VI couldn’t have been in attendance because we could have taken club participation! Next time we will!!
