Nopi Nationals @ MIR
June 25-26
By: Lauri

This past weekend a few of the VI members went to the Maryland International Raceway for Nopi Nationals. Showing for VI were Matt, Artie, Sang and myself. Thanks to Dan, Shawn, Alex, Wayne, Jesse, and Artie's girlfriend. Saturday was a long day. Matt and I woke up around 5 AM and started cleaning our cars. We finally let around 7 AM and were on our way. It was a long drive, and pretty boring. When we got there, we cleaned and cleaned some more. We hung around and checked out some venders and finally had our cars judged around 4 PM. We found out after that, that we didn't have to stay for the rest of the day, so we left to find our hotel. Danny , Matt and I were starved by then, and right next to our Hotel was our favorite place to eat, DAMONS!! We checked in and went to Damons and ate and ate and ate some more. After that, we were tired, so we went back to the room and slept for the rest of the night, and I woke up around 1AM and annoyed everyone.

Sunday morning started off with food. Our hotel had the best free breakfast ever. They had bacon, sausage, muffins, bagels, fruit, everything. If we ever stay overnight for a show at MIR again, we are definatly going back there. We then went over to the show, and luckily hung out with Justin and his brother who own the Nice Honda Civic SI. They let us hang out in our trailor the whole day, which was awesome, since we were so burnt from the day before. Shawn, Jesse, Artie and Alex met up with us that day and they sat in the trailor commenting on every girls butts that walked by. All in all a very exciting day. We went up and watched some races that day and saw some pretty fast cars that day like the Jetta that ran a mid 10 second quarter mile. Although awards were sopposed to be at 5, they actually didn't start until about 7:30-8. They took forever announcing the race awards, which is when Shawn decided that he really needed to make a "Wrap it Up Box"! Fianlly our awards came, and VI came out Victorious. We all took home trophies, as well as a club trophy, which we tiwed with Sudden Impact for having the loudest clubs at awards. Overall, it was a great weekend, and a fun show. Next weekend we get a nice break! Well see you the following Saturday night at WS&S show.
