This past weekend V.I. attended one of the biggest
shows of the season, Ocean City Custom Car show in
Ocean City. Showing for V.I. were Tara, Lauri, &
myself. In attendance were myself, Wendy, Tony D.,
J.J., Vernon, Dan, Tara, Lauri, Paul, Jen M., Mike
B., & little Mikey. Vivid cleaned house!!! Tara
took 2nd in the Mazda class, Lauri took 2nd in the
Volkswagen class, & I took 1st in Toyota Mild
class. It is great for all 3 of us to take home trophies
in an Elite Show like this one. The weekend started
out as we all met up to see 2 Fast 2 Furious. The
movie was awesome! Afterwards we got on our way trying
to get over the Bay Bridge by midnight so we didn’t
have to pay, we made to the bridge in no time, we
got over it at 11:46. With the adrenaline rush of
the movie in us we were rolling. We made it to O.C.
by 1:30 and went our separate ways to our hotels.
We met up at the convention center at 7 am the following
morning, as usual it was raining. We decided to hit
up The Dough Roller for some breakfast and there we
ate them almost out of food! After breakfast since
it was raining and the judges decided to do the judging
on Sunday, we rolled out and hit up the boardwalk
to burn some time. With the rain, you are limited
on activities in O.C. but it didn’t stop us
from tying to enjoy the day. On the way down to Tony’s
pizza for lunch, we hit the Bull Wrestling game, a
major test in strength. First there were a few “I
can do this guys”, well, they did nothing. Then
me and Mike showed them how to do it with the Brutes!
The big bulls. We tore em’ up and the losers
took a walk. We then went to Tony’s pizza for
lunch where we ate and I was sung “Happy Birthday”
to by the Russian waitress’s. From there some
of us went miniature golfing and some went to sleep
for a few hours. Later that night some got together
at J.J.’s for a small party and some went out
for dinner. The next morning we showed up at the show
around 9 and it was cloudy, but never rained, thank
God! So we set up and did our thing. The cars were
smokin’ and the Bikini Contest was hot. In the
end we ended up cleaning house taking home trophies
and some other prizes. A few local clubs that were
there were Sudden Impact, Street Illusions, Nice Dreams,
& Full – FX. In closing, in was a rainy,
cloudy, but successful weekend for V.I. The next show
is June 21st at Patterson H.S. Hope to see everyone
there!
