Import Eurasia, Somerset, NJ
October 12th, 2002

Our Vice President Mel Grupp represented Vivid Images at the last Import Eurasia show of the season. Although disappointed that we did not bring home any awards the trip was fantastic. Mel was accompanied by his girlfriend Marina, myself (Mike Baker), Kristin Shaffer (my girlfriend), Tony Drecchio, Jen our treasurer, and little Michael (Tony and Jen's son).

We left for New Jersey on Friday around 6:30 due to a slight hold up (Tony and Jen). The ride to Jersey was not an exciting one due to the monsoon that hung over the upper east coast the entire weekend. However when we arrived at the Exhibit Center Mel and I knew we had our work cut out for us. We pulled into the center at 10:00 PM with only minutes to spare and got right to work. We wiped and wiped and wiped until we got all of the rainwater and road dirt off that accumulated from the trip. I then began to wax the car as Mel preppedthe wheels and the rest of the car for the next morning. As our luck would have it they began to kick us out at11:00 PM, which just happen to be seconds after I got the wax applied to the car. I removed the wax like a human buffer in exactly 4.65 minutes.

We finally finished our prep for the night and met up with the rest of the crew at the Hampton Inn. After we got our stuff into the room we immediately went in search for food. As it turns out there is nothingin Somerset, NJ near the Exhibit Center to eat at 12:00 PM except the local small town Dinner. Mel and I finally got our turkey club and chicken wrap for a grand total of 30.00 dollars. We went back to the hotel to get some rest for the day to come.

We got up at 9:30 AM and ransacked the complimentary breakfast for as much Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Doughnuts that we could carry. After Breakfast we got on our Vivid Images shirts and headed back to the Exhibit Center. We finished up the car and checked out the show. We took over 200 pictures of phat rides and fine ladies. They had a variety of events and throughout the show including b-bop boys, Culture Shock Dancers, Import Models, and different venders. The show was fairly long and we did not end up getting out of there until 12:45 PM.

We woke up at 9:00 am on Sunday morning and performed our traditional ransacking of the continental breakfast followed by a speedy clean up. We were on the road by 11:30 am and were home by 4:00 PM. Overall the trip was great and the VI crew had a blast. The cars were fly and the women were hot. What more could you ask for on a cold and rainy day.
